A postgraduate student from KSTU reached the final of the All-Russia competition of qualifying works on electrical power engineeringFollowing the results of the graduation paper presentations by the master students of "Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Technology", held last summer for the first time in JSC "Yantarenergo", two students were advised to embark on postgraduate studies, and their papers were sent to the All-Russia competition of qualifying papers of technical universities graduates on electric power and electrotechnical subjects. The work of Igor Beklemshev, dedicated to the implementation of the first Russian pilot project of the "smart networks" concept in distribution networks of 15 kV, was among those two.
227 students from 26 leading technical universities of the country took part in the final qualification competition. It was held in three stages. Within the framework of the first stage, three best bachelors' and three best masters' papers were selected within the university. In the second stage of the competition, participants competed for a ticket to Moscow, at the end of which the expert panel selected 10 best bachelor and 10 best master papers from among the companies-organizers of the competition.
On October 7, the finalists defended their works in Moscow within the framework of the Youth Day of the Russian Energy Week in the third final stage of the contest. The jury chaired by the chief engineer of PJSC Rosseti, Dmitriy Gvozdev, heard the speeches of 19 finalists from 14 technical universities of the country selected according to the results of the two previous stages of the contest.
"It was not possible to win a place among the top three," Igor says, "but, of course, we didn't take it hard. Participation in such a huge event is already great in itself! Comments of the chief engineers of PJSC "Rosseti" will also be handy in our further work. The jury noted a high level of all the works submitted. It was an honor for me to represent my native KSTU among other 19 contestants, for which I would like to thank my scientific adviser Andrei Nikishin and the head of the Department of Electrical Equipment of Vessels and power Engineering, Valeriy Beley. "
Over 4000 young specialists, students and schoolchildren, as well as representatives of state authorities, top officials of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and heads of sectorial enterprises took part in the activities of the Youth Day.
