Acting Rector of KSTU A.G. Mnatsakanyan spoke at the RAS Council meeting
On 18 December, the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) hosted a meeting of the RAS Interdepartmental Coordination Council for Research in Agro-Industrial Production and Integrated Rural Development.
At the meeting, chaired by the RAS President, G.Ya. Krasnikov, and with the participation of the head of Rosrybolovstvo, I.V. Shestakov, reports from representatives of the fisheries scientific community were heard.
The following speakers reported on the problems and prospects of scientific support for the fisheries sector: Director of the State Scientific Centre VNIRO K.V. Kolonchin; Academician, Scientific Director of the Institute of Nutrition V.A. Tutelyan; President of the All-Russian Association of Fisheries Enterprises, Entrepreneurs and Exporters (VARPE) G.S. Zverev; Director of the Department of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation V.A. Bagirov.
A.G. Mnatsakanyan, Acting Rector of KSTU, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honoured Worker of Education, gave a presentation On the Role of Education in the Development of the Russian Fisheries Complex.
In his report, Albert Gurgenovich noted the need to develop the human resources potential of universities, modernise infrastructure, and promote digital transformation and the involvement of the fisheries business.
Cooperation between VNIIRO, universities, institutions subordinate to the Federal Agency for Fishery, and industrial partners will make it possible to achieve the goals set by the National Fisheries Scientific and Educational Consortium.
