Congratulations from KSTU Rector V.A. Volkogon on the New Year!

Dear friends!
On the eve of the New Year, it is customary to summarise the results of the past year.
It was a successful one, and we have a lot to be proud of.
Firstly, we are proud of our people who are bravely and honourably fighting on the fields of the Special military operation.
Students, lecturers and staff of KSTU during the year collected and sent humanitarian aid to support our fighters on the front line.
We will continue this work!
This year also the children of the participants of the Special military operation, as well as the heroes themselves, who returned from the military operations area, entered our university and are now undergoing training.
Thanks to the unprecedented state funding received to upgrade its material and technical base, the university has been transformed this year. Some academic buildings are still in the scaffolding, but it is already possible to assess the scale of the work done.
Each building is a historical heritage monument and is an architectural jewel of Kaliningrad.
We are restoring them to their original beauty.
A lot of work is being done to renovate lecture rooms, laboratories and common areas.
Of course, repairs are always associated with temporary inconveniences.
But they did not prevent our students and cadets showing high achievements in studies and science. Moreover, this year our scientists have published dozens of monographs and textbooks, and KSTU has held large-scale All-Russian and international conferences.
The main people of our university—students and cadets—brilliantly showed their talents in sports and cultural and creative activities.
KSTU took three out of six prize-winning places at the regional sports contest of universities, including the first place for young men.
Our KVN team reached the semi-finals in the show League of Cities (Liga Gorodov) on TNT TV channel, and our students are being discussed by the whole country!
Finally, this year our sailing ships, the Kruzenshtern and Sedov, set sail together again.
The Kruzenshtern participated in the Great African expedition of research vessels organised by the Federal Agency for Fishery, sailing to the coast of Morocco, the port of Agadir.
And the Sedov made a call to the polar port of Murmansk.
The 80th anniversary of the Victory will mark the new year, 2025.
The whole country and our university will celebrate this great event.
And in this coming year I wish all of us happiness, goodness and victorious peace!
Be healthy and happy.
Happy New Year!
