Today, in the Main Academic Building, students from the Water Bioresources and Aquaculture Department participated in an international online climate forum entitled Youth and Climate: Present and Future.

During the event, students and teaching staff from Russia, Armenia and Belarus enhanced their knowledge of climatology. Participants also learnt about creating the conditions for developing measures to adapt to and prevent the negative consequences of climate change at a regional level.

The programme featured presentations by a number of renowned experts in climatology from Moscow, St Petersburg, Kaliningrad and other Russian cities.

The organisers facilitated online participation for around 400 people from various countries. Among them were students and lecturers from our university.

The relevance of the forum’s topic is due to the direct impact of climate change on the state of aquatic biological resources and the development of aquaculture in the region.
