Students majoring in Construction defended their final qualification works

On 13 and 15 January, the Department of Engineering Infrastructure for Capital Construction Objects held the defence of graduation theses by extramural students majoring in Construction.

The defences were held in two specialisations: Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal and Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation. The project subjects covered a wide range of applied tasks for enterprises in the Kaliningrad Region and other regions of Russia, including:

  • - water supply and wastewater disposal projects for the urban-type settlement of Razdolnoye and the town of Pionersky;
  • - gas supply projects for districts in Chernyakhovsk, Kaliningrad and Baltiysk;
  • - heat supply projects for microdistricts in Tambov and Khabarovsk;
  • - ventilation and air conditioning projects for a commercial and administrative building in Ivanovo, a production facility in Protvino, and a co-working space in Vladimir.

All graduates defended their works with ‘excellent’ and ‘good’ grades, with 70% of projects receiving the highest marks. Based on the results of the defences, graduates were recommended to continue their studies in master's programmes. The practical significance of the research was particularly noted: elements of seven final qualification projects were recommended for implementation in production.

An important aspect was the work of the State Examination Commissions, which included representatives of leading regional companies:

  • - for the Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation specialisation—managers of OOO GAZSTROY ZAPAD, OOO Kaliningradteplogazproekt, and OOO Injekom;
  • - for the Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal specialisation—managers at various levels of the state enterprise of the Kaliningrad region Vodokanal.

The participation of expert practitioners highlights the demand for training at the department and the relevance of the tasks solved by students for the real sector of the economy.

We congratulate the department, graduates and their academic supervisors on the successful completion of this important stage!
