KSTU student has won in the international competition of the Baltic University Program

     Alexander Menshenin, a representative of the Department of Ichthyology and Ecology of KSTU, will henceforth hold the position of an electronic adviser, whose tasks will include digitizing lectures and helping to create interactive online courses within the framework of a joint project of KSTU and universities of the Baltic region - "Global climate change in the Baltic Sea region".

     Alexander has been heading towards this victory for a long time, for three years improving his knowledge of sustainable development of the Baltic Sea region under the guidance of Associate Professor Yu.K. Aldushina and senior teacher A.S. Burbach.

     Within the framework of the competition, the student has successfully passed all the competitive tests, including writing a motivation letter and a CV, and giving an interview, showing a high level of proficiency in spoken and professional English.

     In total, more than 45 applications from European universities have been submitted, and only a few of them have made it to the final. Among them was Alexander.

     From that moment on, the representative of KSTU begins active work within the framework of this project and in March he will undergo special training. The results will be presented at the end of June 2021.

      International Relations Office of KSTU and the National Center of the Program congratulate Alexander on such a significant achievement and thank the head of the Department for Educational Work and Youth Policy of KSTU G.I. Rozinkevich, head of the Department of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies I.G. Lantsevich, professor of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of the Faculty of Humanitarian Training, Professor L.V. Shkodich, Head of the Department of Food Biotechnology, Professor O. Ya. Mezenova for active assistance in the selection of candidates for participation in the competition. The directorate of the Baltic University Program of the University of Uppsala (Sweden) highly appreciated proficiency of the presented candidates and considers KSTU as a reference university for the development of regional and international interuniversity cooperation within the Program.

     Brief overview:

     The Baltic University Program was created in 1991 at the initiative of Uppsala University (Sweden) and is a university network of 225 universities from 14 countries of the Baltic Sea region.

      Main directions of the Program:

  • Research and educational projects related to the Baltic Sea region;

  • International cooperation;

  • Comprehensive study of aspects of sustainable development of the region;

  • Academic mobility, internationalization.

     Kaliningrad State Technical University has been a member of the Baltic University Program since 1996, and since 2018 - the National Program Center in the Russian Federation.
