To the authors
The issues addressed in the articles should correspond to the headings of the journal presented in the Journal Information section.
Submission of an article for publication means the assignment of right of publication to a publisher in the territory of the Russian Federation and foreign countries, including publication on the Internet.
Only copyrighted materials that meet the following requirements are accepted for publication:
The editorial office of the journal accepts the author’s original article in Russian in electronic form; brief abstract of the article in Russian and English, revealing the statement of the problem and the main results and conclusions obtained, volume - 200 words; information about the authors in Russian and English, including last name, first name, middle name (fully), academic degree, academic title, place of work, position, E-mail, address.
The volume of the author's final manuscript should be 8-12 pages of computer text in A4 format, printed at a single interval; font TimesNewRoman; font size - 13, paragraph indent 1.25; margins - 2.5 cm from all sides.
All figures and tables should have a title in Russian and English and be mentioned in the text as links. It is forbidden to insert scanned figures and tables into the article.
Tables should be typed using the same font as the main text, but smaller (size 12, if there is a lot of data, size 9 is allowed). If the digital data in the table is expressed in one unit, its name is given in the table heading separated by commas (mass, kg; length, cm). If these data are expressed in different units, they are indicated in the heading of each column. Tables on the left, right, and bottom are usually limited by lines. The column heading should be separated by a line from the rest of the table. If the digital data in some columns of the table are not given, then a dash is put in the column.
Graphics can be used as illustrative material. x- and y- axis of a plot should have the legend and dimension of the quantities used. Illustrations should be arranged so that they are conveniently viewed without turning the work or turning it clockwise.
The article should have a UDC, the list of references should be at least 7 titles (drawn up strictly according to GOST 7.0.5-2011), its title should be concise and adequate to the content. All sources should be referenced in the text as they are mentioned. If the author has already published articles in the Baltic Economic Journal, you must use this reference in the list.
The main criteria which are taken into account by the editors when making a decision on the advisability of publication include: the relevance of the problem being analyzed; originality of the proposed approaches to its solution; validity and practical orientation of these approaches.
Articles prepared by postgraduate students and applicants for a PhD degree are accepted if there is information about the supervisor and his written recommendation on the publication of the article.
Submitted articles must have reviews; they are published when they are recommended for publication by the editors and the editorial board of the Baltic Economic Journal.
Copyrighted materials submitted in violation of these requirements will not be accepted for review and publication.
The manuscript of an article submitted to the Editorial Board is reviewed by the editor for the correctness of design and compliance with the scientific area of the journal. If all the requirements are met, the manuscript is registered in the database, it is checked for unconditional borrowings, after which a notification is sent to the author of acceptance of the materials for consideration.
Each material submitted for publication undergoes a peer review process with a view to its expert evaluation. When submitting materials, an external review is brought. However, this does not exclude the usual review procedure.
Materials are reviewed by a reviewer, who may be the editor of a journal, a member of the editorial board of a journal, or a specialist with a specialization closest to the topic of the article. The editor-in-chief has the right to attract external reviewers (doctors or candidates of sciences, including practitioners) who are not members of the editorial board. The editor-in-chief agrees with the reviewer the deadline for submitting the review to the journal.
The reviewer cannot be the author or co-author of the peer-reviewed materials, the scientific adviser of the author and the employee of the unit in which the author works.
The reviewer, when sending the Manuscript for review, is notified that this Manuscript is the intellectual property of the authors and relates to information not subject to disclosure.
It is prohibited for reviewers to:
- use the Manuscript for their needs and the needs of third parties;
- disclose information contained in the Manuscript before its publication;
- give the Manuscript for review to another person without approval of the editor-in-chief;
- use the materials contained in the Manuscript before its publication in their own interests.
The editors reserve the right not to provide the author of the article with the information about the reviewer.
The material is submitted for review without indicating any information about the authors. The review should objectively evaluate the materials and contain a comprehensive analysis of its scientific and methodological advantages and disadvantages. The review is made in free form with the obligatory coverage of the following provisions:
- Relevance of the submitted manuscript.
- Scientific novelty of the research results considered in the Manuscript.
- Significance of the statement of the problem or the results obtained for further development of theory and practice in the field of knowledge under consideration.
- Actualness of research methods and statistical processing of materials.
- Admissibility of the volume of the Manuscript.
- Validity and appropriateness of using tables, illustrative material in the Manuscript, compliance with the stated topic, their relevance.
- Conformity of the conclusions of the goal and objectives of the study.8) Clarity of presentation of the material: style, terminology, wording.
- Quality of the study of literary sources and the correct design of bibliographic data.
The operative part of the review should contain reasonable conclusions about the materials in general and a clear recommendation on the appropriateness of its publication in the journal, on the refusal to publish, or on the need for its revision.
According to the results of the review, the materials may be:
- approved for publication;
- rejected of publication;
- sent to finalizing and corrective actions.
The final decision on the acceptance of materials for publication in the journal is made by the editors.
In the case of a negative assessment of the Manuscript, the reviewer substantiates his or her conclusions and indicates significant discrepancies that influenced the decision.
If the materials do not meet one or several criteria, the reviewer indicates in the review the need to finalize the article and gives recommendations to the author on eliminating comments.
The author of the materials must make all necessary corrections to the final version of the article (review, etc.) no later than 7 calendar days after receiving the notification by e-mail, and return the revised text and the cover letter to the reviewer.
Manuscripts finalized by the author are re-sent for review to the same reviewer who made critical comments, or to another at the discretion of the editor-in-chief.
Manuscripts the authors of which have not eliminated the constructive comments of the reviewer or have not rejected them by giving reasons are not accepted for publication.
The editors send to the author of the materials a substantiated refusal or a copy of the review.
If the publication of the materials entails a violation of someone else’s copyright or generally accepted standards of scientific ethics, then the editors of the Journal are entitled to publish a refutation, as well as inform interested parties about the violation of rights.
Reviews are kept in the editorial office of the Journal for 5 years.
Articles are published in the Baltic Economic Journal for free. Authors' copies are either sent by e-mail, or the author receives them by subscription.
