In May this year, the results of the regional stage of the All-Russian essay competition Rouble Day – 2025 were announced. We are proud to inform you that Alexandra Shevtsova, a first-year student of the Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management specialising in economic security, under the supervision of S.M. Ezhely, won first place in the student category.

Rouble Day is a large-scale educational project organised by the Council for Professional Qualifications of the Financial Market with the support of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. In 2025, the competition brought together over 4,000 participants from 75 regions of Russia, as well as from CIS countries. The main aim of the project is to improve financial literacy among young people and to promote the history of the national currency.

To participate in the competition, it was necessary to prepare an independent creative work on one of the relevant topics. The theme of our student’s competition entry was The History of the Rouble as a Mirror of Russian History. The essay written by Alexandra received top marks from the expert panel.

The jury assessed not only her in-depth knowledge of economic processes and the history of Russia’s financial system, but also her ability to present her arguments in a well-reasoned manner.

Victory at the regional level opens up new horizons for Alexandra Shevtsova. Winning this stage earned her an invitation to Moscow for the final events.

Winning such a competition is not only a personal achievement but also confirmation of the high standard of our students’ training in financial literacy.

We congratulate our winner and her academic supervisor, S.M. Ezhely, on their well-deserved success!

We wish them inspiration and further victories at the All-Russian level!
