The Construction Department hosted a session on Design and Construction of Buildings and Structures
The Construction Department hosted a session of the Design and Construction of Buildings and Structures section as part of the 5th International scientific and technical conference for students and cadets, Science Days. Third- and fourth-year students specialising in Industrial and Civil Engineering presented the results of their research.
The students submitted six papers to the judging panel. Ksenia Bakirova and Anastasia Selikhova presented a comparative analysis of prefabricated and monolithic house-building technologies using a residential building as an example. Alexander Eliseev and Viktoria Kozhevnikova conducted an experimental study of various hardening regimes for lightweight concrete using fine aggregate. Tatyana Salimgareeva and Evgeniya Kireeva examined the condition of the construction equipment fleet in the Kaliningrad Region and proposed measures to optimise the use of the equipment in confined spaces as well as justify the selection of critical points for monitoring steel trusses. Ekaterina Sudnitsyna carried out a comparative analysis of various methods for calculating internal forces, identifying the optimal option.
The conference took place in a friendly atmosphere. Follow-up questions were asked regarding all the presented papers, and directions for further research were suggested. The students felt motivated to deepen their knowledge and achieve new scientific results.
Following the meeting, they announced the winners:
- - 1st place–Alexander Eliseev and Viktoria Kozhevnikova, research supervisor: G.V. Savkin, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor.
- - 2nd place – Tatiana Salimgareeva and Evgeniya Kireeva, research supervisor: A.S. Lavrova, Candidate of Engineering Sciences.
- - 3rd place – Ekaterina Sudnitsyna, research supervisor: I.V. Khomyakova, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor.
We congratulate the winners and wish the young researchers every success in their future endeavours!
The event is being held as part of a federal budget grant to higher education institutions for the implementation of activities aimed at supporting student scientific societies.
