An exhibition dedicated to the anniversaries of legendary sailing ships opened in the Sea recreation area at KSTU. It marks the 100th anniversary of the barque Kruzenstern and the 105th anniversary of the Sedov. Works by three authors, whose lives are inextricably linked to the sea, will now welcome visitors to the space.

V.T. Levkov is a marine artist whose work has long been an integral part of the region’s maritime history. Together with his brother Oleg (both are 1st-rank captains in reserve), they devoted their art to the maritime world, capturing on canvas the formation and development of Russia’s sailing fleet. Museums in Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, and other countries exhibited their works.

V.V. Semidyanov is known as the chronicler of the circumnavigations of the Kruzenstern and Sedov. He had sailed on these voyages since the 1990s, climbing the masts and heading out to sea in boats to capture unique shots.

V.V. Kosyak is a photographer who continues the tradition of maritime photography. His work complements the exhibition with a fresh perspective on the ships and their crews.

The exhibition in the Sea recreation area is symbolic. It links the history of these legendary vessels with today’s students, for whom shipboard training on the Kruzenstern and Sedov remains a vital part of their education. The artworks allow visitors to imagine themselves on the deck of a sailing ship, to feel the excitement of regattas and the beauty of the open ocean.

We invite you to visit the exhibition in the Main Academic Building of KSTU.
