A working meeting took place on the Sedov
A working meeting was held on board the famous sailing training ship Sedov, that will celebrate her 105th anniversary in 2026, between the Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB)—Head of the Secretariat of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (Deputy Chairman of the Committee), I.G. Sirotkin; the Deputy Head of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, F.M. Rasulov; and the Acting Rector of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education ‘KSTU’, A.G. Mnatsakanyan. The meeting addressed issues relating to enhancing the anti-terrorism security of educational institutions and ensuring the safety of maritime facilities and shipping, including for training purposes.

The crew of the barque, led by V.Yu. Nikolin, a master mariner and the captain of the sailing training ship Sedov, gave the delegation a warm welcome. He shared some fascinating facts from the history of the world’s largest sailing ship, including her voyage along the Northern Sea Route. Albert Mnatsakanyan, the Acting Rector, spoke about cadets’ first shipboard training and the vital role of the sailing vessels in practical maritime training. The participants learnt about the specifics of acquiring watch-keeping skills, the organisation of the educational process during the voyage, and the crew’s daily life on board.
