On 18 June, Kaliningrad State Technical University hosted the fifth official award ceremony for the winners and runners-up of the Parade of Stars school olympiads. More than 170 talented young people from Kaliningrad and the region received well-deserved awards, as well as unique opportunities to enter the university without taking exams and to get increased scholarships.

The winners and runners-up of the final stages of the All-Russian and inter-university academic competitions, along with their parents, teachers and honoured guests, gathered in the KSTU assembly hall.

Welcoming speeches were delivered by O.G. Ogij, First Vice-Rector of KSTU; I.S. Samarin, Chief Executive of AO PSZ YANTAR and Chair of the Kaliningrad Regional Branch of the Russian Union of Mechanical Engineers; I.N. Pozdnyakova, Head of the Education Modernization Department of the Ministry of Education of the Kaliningrad Region;
G.V. Grivusevich, Head of the Department of General Education of the Committee on Education of the Kaliningrad City District Administration; G.P. Taranov, Deputy Head of the West Baltic Territorial Directorate of the Federal Agency for Fisheries; and O.D. Mishin, Head of the Training and Staff Development Department at AO PSZ YANTAR.

The current 2025–2026 academic year has been a record-breaking one for the Olympiad Marathon at KSTU. The university hosted the qualifying and final rounds of 48 subject-specific Olympiads, covering physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, Russian language and even architecture. The total number of participants exceeded 4,500 school pupils from grades 6 to 11. More than 500 pupils competed for victory in the final stages, and the best of them stepped onto the stage.

For winners and prize-winners of Olympiads included in the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, KSTU will give the green light:

Admission without entrance examinations (provided they achieve a score of 75+ in the relevant Unified State Examination).

Additional points (up to 10) added to their Unified State Examination total for participation and victories.

An increased scholarship of 25,000 roubles for first-year students who are winners.

At the ceremony, personalised certificates entitling them to this scholarship were presented to the 2026 graduates—winners and prize-winners of the Russian Council of School Olympiads’ list.

This year, KSTU co-organised 13 prestigious inter-university Olympiads, including Zvezda, Gazprom, Izumrud, Kurchatov and Step into the Future, in collaboration with the country’s leading universities: Bauman Moscow State Technical University, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute), Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Ural Federal University and others.

The ceremony focused especially on the university’s own multidisciplinary Olympiad. This year, nearly 1,000 school pupils participated, with 66 students becoming winners and prize-winners. Depending on their status, the university will award them additional points (up to 7) upon admission.
