KSTU lecturer participated in the conference Development and Reliability Improvement of Distribution Networks

A.O. Zadorozhny participated in the 11th International Scientific and Technical Conference Development and Reliability Improvement of Distribution Networks.

For the first time, the business programme included a session on human resources training for the power grid complex within the higher education system.

The round table Quality of Education: Employers’ Expectations and the Active Adaptation of the Education System, organised by the Federal Educational and Methodological Association within the higher education system for an enlarged group of specialties and training directions 13.00.00 Heat Power Engineering and Thermal Engineering and the National Research University ‘Moscow Power Engineering Institute’ (MPEI), was dedicated to the interaction between the professional community and the higher education system.

In his presentation, Andrey Olegovich spoke about the application of artificial intelligence technologies in the electric grid complex, the vision and experience of implementing AI within the Rosseti Group, and the necessary competencies of employees in companies’ AI transformation.

During the round-table discussion, participants discussed the education sector’s readiness to train highly qualified personnel capable of utilising AI technologies; they reviewed the results of an analysis of educational institutions’ readiness, based on a survey of universities offering programmes in the training direction Electroenergetics and Electrical Engineering; and discussed the intermediate results of the project to harmonise classifications in the labour and education sectors, which is currently being implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation.

The conference provided an opportunity for an open dialogue between representatives of the education sector and the professional community to improve the personnel training system in promising areas of the electric grid complex, including using AI technologies.
