KSTU trains winners of economics competitions
The Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management is continuing to run an educational project to prepare Kaliningrad school pupils for economics competitions.
The classes are being held as part of a grant from the Kaliningrad Region Ministry of Education and are aimed at developing the intellectual potential of the region’s senior secondary school pupils.
The course participants performed successfully at the school stage of the All-Russian Economics Olympiad for School Pupils and won prizes. This result confirmed the high standard of their preparation and marked an important step towards the next stages of the competition.
The programme is designed for pupils in Years 9–11 and covers key areas of economic science — from micro- and macroeconomics to financial mathematics and qualitative analysis.
Together with the Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management lecturers, the pupils analyse real-world economic case studies and examine the specifics of regional budgetary processes.
Grant support from the Kaliningrad Region Ministry of Education makes in-depth economic education accessible to school pupils from all municipalities in the region. Success at the All-Russian School Olympiad and other Olympiads listed by the Russian Council for School Olympiads can open up additional opportunities for senior school pupils when applying to universities.
For the Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management, this project represents an important step in preparing future specialists for the region’s economy. By learning about the university, its facilities and teaching staff, school pupils are already mapping out their educational path and gaining the opportunity to link their further studies with KSTU.
Classes are continuing as scheduled in the university’s educational buildings.
