A celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the Kruzenshtern and the 105th anniversary of the Sedov took place at the Sea Fishing Port
On 26 June, a celebration was held at the Kaliningrad Sea Fishing Port to mark the 100th anniversary of the barque Kruzenshtern and the 105th anniversary of the barque Sedov.
Administration and staff from KSTU, BFFSA and KMFC; the crews of the sailing ships Sedov and Kruzenshtern; as well as the university’s partners and representatives of the city authorities gathered to mark these significant dates. The event was held with the support of PJSC Sberbank.

The Acting Rector of KSTU, A.G. Mnatsakanyan, and the Minister of Education of the Kaliningrad Region, S.S. Truseneva, delivered welcoming addresses. The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Kaliningrad Region — A.M. Kropotkin; the First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Budget and Financial Markets, Senator A.V. Shenderyuk-Zhidkov; Metropolitan of Baltiysk and Svetlogorsk — His Eminence Seraphim; Head of the West-Baltic Territorial Administration of Rosrybolovstvo — S.V. Kotyukh; Assistant to Senator A.G. Yaroshuk, Member of the Federation Council Committee on Defence and Security, — G.V. Shuvalova; Assistant to the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation M.E. Orgeeva — A.S. Sagaidak; First Deputy Head of the Administration — Chief of Staff of the Administration of the Urban District ‘City of Kaliningrad’, A.N. Asmykovich; Deputy Director of VNIRO, P.M. Bagimov; and O.N. Tikhomirov, Head of the Kaliningrad branch of Sberbank, also came out to congratulate on the anniversaries and present commemorative awards.
At the start of the event, the military band of the Baltic Fleet welcomed the guests, followed by a concert programme performed by the Kaliningrad Variety Theatre.
The second half of the celebrations continued with the KVN Cup 100 Years Under Sail!, which took place on board the Kruzenshtern for the first time. Representative teams from KSTU, BFFSA and KMFC participated, as well as a guest team from KSTU, Porshni (Pistons). The Cup was organised to mark the 100th anniversary of the Kruzenshtern, the 80th anniversary of the Kaliningrad Region and the 65th anniversary of the KVN movement. The judging panel comprised A.V. Ermak, Minister for Culture and Tourism of the Kaliningrad Region; E.A. Papakina, Deputy Minister of Youth Policy of the Kaliningrad Region; A.G. Mnatsakanyan, Acting Rector of KSTU; the captain of the Kruzenshtern, M.P. Eremchenko; the captain of the Sber KVN team, E.V. Latyuk, the director of Pervyj Kaliningrad Terminal LLC, E.E. Peresetsky, and V.S. Silaev, a member of the KVN Premier League and creative producer of entertainment programmes for the TNT television channel.
The barque Kruzenstern is currently preparing to set sail on her first voyage of 2026. Cadets have recently boarded the sailing ship to undertake their shipboard training. About 140 cadets will learn their first maritime professions: 25 from Kerch State Maritime Technological University, 40 from the BFFSA, 60 from KMFC and 16 from SPbMFC, including 13 women (6 from the BFFSA and 7 from KMFC).

The KVN Cup is organised with the support of PJSC Sberbank and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs as part of the federal project Russia – Land of Opportunity, part of the national project Youth and Children, following the results of the All-Russian competition for developing comprehensive youth policies in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, Region for the Young, in 2026. The Cup was organised by the FSBEI HE ‘KSTU’, the KVN student league PLOTVA, and the State Autonomous Institution of the Kaliningrad Region Youth Centre, with the support of the Ministry of Youth Policy of the Kaliningrad Region.
