A postgraduate student from KSTU presented a report at the conference Traditions, Modern Problems, and Prospects of Construction Development
Aleksey Karpenko, a postgraduate student of the Construction Department, participated in the 13th International scientific conference of young scientists, Traditions, Modern Problems, and Prospects of Construction Development. It was held in Grodno.
At the plenary session, he presented a report reflecting one part of the postgraduate student's dissertation research. Specifically, it summarised the results of strength tests of materials comprising flat reinforced brick floors.
The study is relevant for both the Kaliningrad Region and the Republic of Belarus, as there is a large number of historic buildings containing this type of floor, as well as the need to develop methods for calculating residual load-bearing capacity and determining the technical condition for the preservation of cultural and historical heritage.
The paper sparked a lively scientific discussion, which resulted in the identification of future research directions.
