KSTU is represented at international scientific and educational events in St. Petersburg

In October, St. Petersburg Expo Centre is hosting the congress Professional Education, Science and Innovation in the 21st Century and an international scientific and educational salon. The event takes place within the Decade of Science and Technology, which was proclaimed by a decree from the President of the Russian Federation. On October 22, the congress had its grand opening.

Organisers have conducted the event every year since 2007, gathering over a thousand participants from the scientific and educational sectors of the Northwestern region of Russia to discuss pressing issues concerning science, education, innovation, and personnel policy.

The high-profile event features information stands from our university and its branch in the Northern capital — SPbMFC. O. G. Ogij, the First Vice-Rector of the university, heads the working delegation from KSTU.

The stands feature information and videos that tell about the training programmes and educational institutions of the leading university of Rosrybolovstvo.

The college staff and cadets ensure the work of our exhibition. They show visitors the technical innovations involved in the educational process.

In particular, a VR simulator with the Solvo.TOS program is available here. Using it, our staff talk about the profession of a tallyman — a specialist who keeps records of cargo and oversees loading and unloading operations at the port. Guests of the salon can also try the simulator in action.

The congress Professional Education, Science and Innovation in the 21st Century and the international scientific and educational salon will run until October 24.
