The faculty members of the Power Engineering Department participated in the International Forum Russian Energy Week – 2026, which was held from October 14 to 16 in Moscow.

This year, two faculty members from the department represented KSTU at the annual energy event.

D.K. Kugucheva, a senior lecturer of the Power Engineering Department, became a prize winner in the VI All-Russian competition with international participation, Renewable Energy of the Planet – 2026. Russia Renewable Energy Development Association (RREDA) organised the competition. The association brings together leading companies and organisations in the industry. The competition aims to identify and support promising scientific research and technological solutions in the field of renewable energy.

Following the competition, the committee awarded Darya Kugacheva a third-degree diploma and invited her, as one of the winners and prize-winners, to present her scientific development at the International Forum Russian Energy Week – 2026. As part of the scientific conference Contribution of Young Scientists to Russia’s Technological Sovereignty, she presented a report titled Hardware-Software Complex for Mitigating Voltage Deviation and Asymmetry in Grids with Microgeneration Facilities.

The young scientist from KSTU, in her work, focuses on solving a pressing issue in distributed energy development by ensuring the quality of electrical energy in low-voltage grids during the integration of small-scale solar power plants. The hardware-software complex proposed by Daria makes it possible to control the operating modes of microgeneration facilities to reduce voltage deviation and asymmetry. It helps to increase the efficiency of their integration into existing electric networks.

The high assessment of the university employee's development at the All-Russian industry competition highlights the relevance and practical significance of the scientific research conducted at KSTU.

As part of the event, the scientific supervisor of the work, M.S. Kharitonov, Associate Professor at the Power Engineering Department of KSTU, was also honored with an award of appreciation for his contribution to the development of renewable energy.

Professor of the Power Engineering Department R.V. Zubavicius spoke at the Rosseti State Corporation reporting conference. It took place as part of the Youth Day at the Russian Energy Week. Roman Virginevich presented a report titled Technical and Economic Justification for the Use of Energy Storage Systems to Optimise the Operating Modes of Industrial Consumers within the Power System.

His research focuses on a relevant area of modern power engineering — the use of electrical energy storage systems to improve the efficiency of power supply to industrial enterprises. The technical solutions under consideration aim to optimise power consumption modes and reduce electricity costs. The presentation allowed the research results to be presented at the industry platform of Russia’s largest power grid company.

The Russian Energy Week is one of the most significant international events in the fuel and energy complex. Every year, the forum brings together representatives of government bodies, heads of major Russian and foreign energy companies, leading scientists, industry experts, and young professionals. Participants discuss strategic directions for the development of the energy sector, issues of technological sovereignty, energy security, and the introduction of promising technologies at its venues.

The participation of KSTU lecturers in the Russian Energy Week became one of the most significant events in the scientific activity of the Power Engineering Department. Presentation of our developments at such a high-level platform confirms the relevance of the research conducted at the university, its practical focus, and its alignment with the priority tasks for the development of the national power industry.

We congratulate our staff members and scientists — D. K. Kugucheva, M. S. Kharitonov, and R. V. Zubavichus — on their outstanding presentations and awards at one of the country’s largest energy forums, and we wish them new scientific and professional achievements!
