KSTU student – UMNIK-2025
The Innovation Promotion Fund has announced the results of the nationwide UMNIK-2025 competition, which aims to support young scientists. Artem Geta, a fourth-year student of Kaliningrad State Technical University, was among the 500 winners whose projects were recommended for financial support.
Young researchers from all over Russia submitted over 3,300 applications to the competition in total. Project defences took place at 18 regional venues from Moscow to Vladivostok. In such promising areas as new materials and chemistry, medicine, and production technologies, young researchers presented the largest number of developments.
The winner from KSTU, Artem Geta, who is studying Automation of Technological Processes and Productions, submitted a project on the development of a standard project generator for the automation of engineering systems. His solution aims to optimise and accelerate the design process for complex engineering systems, which is a pressing issue for modern industrial enterprises and the construction industry.
The total funding for this competition amounted to 250 million roubles. Each winner received a grant of 500,000 roubles, which will be used to conduct research work over a two-year period.
‘Artem's victory in such a prestigious federal competition is not only his personal achievement but also an indicator of the high level of students' training at KSTU. His project has serious practical potential and may be in demand in the real sector of the economy,’ noted Vice-Rector for Research N.A. Kostrikova.
The Innovation Promotion Fund implements the programme UMNIK (participant of the Youth Scientific and Innovative Competition) with the aim of supporting young scientists who seek to apply their innovative ideas and commercialise the results of their scientific research.
