Representatives from the Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture appeared as experts at the Fishtival street food festival in Zelenogradsk.

As part of this event, the Information Centre for Atomic Energy (ICAE) in Kaliningrad organised and held the Scientific Lawn. The open-air lectures were delivered in a popular scientific format.

The following experts spoke at the Scientific Lawn: O.A. Novozhilov, who presented a report on the species composition of fish inhabiting the waters of the Baltic Sea; and Yulia Romashova, a postgraduate student at the Water Bioresources and Aquaculture Department, who highlighted a promising area of research – fish farming using warm wastewater (thermal effluent) from nuclear power plants.

We would like to thank the organisers for the opportunity to participate in this event, as well as the audience for their interesting questions and engaging discussions.
