Representatives from KSTU took on Big Challenges

From 1 to 24 July, the Big Challenges science and technology programme is taking place at the Sirius Educational Centre. Kaliningrad State Technical University is represented at this major event by Karina Konovalova, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, research engineer in the Research and Development Department of the Research Activities Office, and lead engineer in the laboratories of the Commercial Fishery Department, and by Alexander Pivovarov, a student on the Commercial Fishery programme.

They are acting as mentors to talented school pupils from across the country, working on the ambitious project Development and Testing of an Unmanned Catamaran with a Monitoring System. Their main task is not simply to implement a complex engineering idea, but also to pass on their unique experience to the young researchers.

The Big Challenges programme is a Sirius project run across 11 areas. Taking part in it gives school pupils key project activity skills.
