Student Scientific Society of KSTU reached the final of the All-Russian competition
The Student Scientific Society of KSTU is officially among the finalists of the remote stage of the All-Russian competition Best Student Scientific Society of the Fuel and Energy Complex in Russia.
Our united Student Scientific Society achieved this victory through collaborative efforts, where the synergy between engineers and science popularizers yielded impressive results.
Under the guidance of their lecturer, Daria Kugucheva and captain Artem Surnin, the team of power engineering students developed a breakthrough project for the fuel and energy complex: the construction of a geothermal power station in Kamchatka, which will solve the problem of isolated energy hubs.
The Tide is High (More volnuyetsya raz) project team presented a vibrant popular science initiative that has already inspired hundreds of schoolchildren and students to study marine sciences and research.
As a result of the preliminary round, we secured 2nd place amongst the country’s strongest universities. We competed against teams from Moscow State University, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University), Tyumen State University and others. The competition jury awarded our work 90 points out of a possible 100.
This score is the recognition of our systematic work. Today, our community comprises 65 active members of the Student Scientific Society, 30 articles in the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) database, 6 patents, 42 scientific events in 2025, victories in championships, and grants worth millions from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
Ahead of us lies the in-person stage at the Oil and Gas—2026 International Forum, where we are ready to demonstrate the high level and capabilities of the participants of the KSTU Student Scientific Society.
We are very grateful to our mentors, the administration, all Student Scientific Society members, and everyone who supports our scientific work!
