Students from the Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management and Institute of Marine Technologies, Power Engineering and Construction developed a concept for the station square in Bagrationovsk
Yesterday, the Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management hosted a presentation of concepts for the development of the railway station square in Bagrationovsk, prepared as part of the Point on the Map project's intensive course.
Three teams, comprising 21 students from the Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management (specializing in Economic Security and bachelor's programme in Management) and the Institute of Marine Technologies, Power Engineering and Construction (bachelor's programme in Industrial and Civil Engineering), participated in the project intensive course. The projects were developed under the guidance of O.B. Ilyina, Associate Professor of the Economic Security Department, and A.S. Lavrova, Acting Head of the Construction Department.
During the intensive course, the students developed schematic designs for the improvement of the railway station square, including the inclusion of small architectural forms, cost estimates, and an assessment of the socio-economic impact of the square's renovation. The concepts were presented to the administration of the Bagrationovsky Municipality. Following the presentation, each concept highlighted intriguing solutions that will form the basis for the design and estimate documentation.
The administration of the Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management and Bagrationovsky Municipality noted the successful results of this collaboration and confirmed their intention to continue the fruitful cooperation between the municipality and the university.
This interaction shows young people that they can influence their surroundings and forms a sense of responsibility for their region's development, aligning with KSTU's strategy to ensure the social well-being of traditional and commercial fishing areas by enhancing the region's high-quality labour potential.
