The Higher Attestation Commission’s website published a thesis by a KSTU lecturer
The Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation sent a letter of appreciation to the Acting Rector of KSTU, A.G. Mnatsakanyan, signed by the Chief Scientific Secretary, A.A. Fedyanin.
The letter states that, at the meeting of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK), the Expert Council decided to nominate the thesis by N.V. Samoilova, a postgraduate student from the Food and Refrigeration Machines Department, entitled Improving the Process and Equipment for Portioning Fish, as one of the best in 2024. The Higher Attestation Commission’s website has already published an abstract of the thesis.
N.V. Samoilova’s supervisor was Professor Yu. A. Fatykhov, Doctor of Engineering Sciences. Sadly, Yuri Adgamovich passed away in May 2024, but his legacy lives on. We would like to pay tribute once again to our wonderful colleague and talented scientist. Last year, the Department of Process Equipment Engineering opened a modern teaching and research laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art technology to honour this renowned scientist and educator. Today, specialists in this field are trained in the laboratory, including those who base their work on Y.A. Fatykhov’s scientific research.
Even at the defence stage in 2024, N.V. Samoilova’s research received positive feedback. The thesis was highly praised by the official examiners: V.V. Pelenko – Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor, St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, and D.V. Stepanov – Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor, Kerch State Maritime Technological University. Members of the Dissertation Council positively assessed the relevance of the research topic, the scientific novelty and practical significance of the work, the candidate’s qualifications and the extensive scope of her research. The Council noted that the practical application of these research findings contributes significantly to the field of fish processing. N.V. Samoilova teaches at the Department of Technosphere Safety and Environmental Engineering.
At the end of the letter to the university administration, the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) extended its appreciation for the preparation of this excellent research paper.
