The region's first Center for New Opportunities opened at KSTU
On April 24, a ceremonial opening of the student space, the Center for New Opportunities (CNO), was held in the Sea recreation area of the Kaliningrad State Technical University's Main Academic Building. Representatives of regional authorities, Kaliningrad region universities, and KSTU staff, researchers, and students attended the event.
The Acting Rector of KSTU, A.G. Mnatsakanyan, along with A.N. Kuzminykh, Head of the FSS Department for the Kaliningrad Region, and A.M. Krasovsky, Deputy Head of the Office of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, cut the red ribbon at the entrance to the Center for New Opportunities.
A point of attraction for young scientists and researchers, this space, equipped with the latest technology, includes six newest laboratories. In particular, experimental laboratories include digital twins, training simulators, big data and neural control, unmanned systems, aquaculture engineering, electrophysical processes, and electrical testing.
Students and schoolchildren involved in university projects will be accepted at the Center for New Opportunities at KSTU, accessible through the recreation center the Sea. The centre itself features an open startup studio with 32 high-tech workstations, a student coworking space, and a meeting room.
The region's first Center for New Opportunities is an innovative space for youth technical and technological creativity, supporting students' projects and research initiatives and creating opportunities for the advancement and implementation of young scientists' research. The project was funded by the university's own resources.
The opening of this new space at the university will have a positive impact on the growth of registered student intellectual property and, subsequently, significantly increase the contribution of young researchers to the innovative development of the Kaliningrad Region.
