Last Saturday, the four-masted barque Kruzenshtern returned to the Kaliningrad Sea Fishing Port during the morning pilotage, bringing the sailing part of the voyage 1/138 to a close.

A series of watches, emergency drills, and shipboard duties now remains behind. The knowledge gained about navigational instruments, ship systems, electrical equipment, and various structural nuances of the ship's construction was reinforced by final graded tests. The cadets who received their first working professions are now on their way home.

Before entering the port, the trainees on the sailing ship successfully passed their final graded tests, which will enable them to obtain their first maritime specialist certificates: ‘seaman’ for the navigators, ‘motorman’ for the marine engineers, and ‘ship’s electrician’ for the electricians.

On 12 August, heading for Kaliningrad, the crew and cadets witnessed a rare astronomical phenomenon at sea—a solar eclipse, during which the Moon covered more than 80 per cent of the Sun’s disc.

On 16 July, the four-masted barque Kruzenshtern began the sailing part of her first voyage this navigation season. In the morning, the sailing ship set sail with cadets on board. On 14 July, before the departure, the ship hosted a ceremonial muster attended by KSTU officials, a solemn prayer service and an awards ceremony for outstanding cadets.

During the first voyage of the 2026 navigation season, about 140 cadets undertook their practical training on board the vessel: 25 from Kerch State Maritime Technological University, 40 from the BFFSA, 60 from KMFC and 16 from SPbMFC, including 13 female cadets (6 from BFFSA, 7 from KMFC).
