KSTU representatives received awards at a ceremonial event

On August 6, a solemn event dedicated to the Builder's Day was held. The year 2026 became an anniversary year for the construction industry.

V.A. Pimenov, a professor of the Construction Department at KSTU, received the commemorative medal 80 Years of the Kaliningrad Region. The lecturer accepted it from A.S. Besprozvannykh, the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region.

Valery Aleksandrovich is a distinguished specialist in the field of building and structure surveys and a veteran of the construction industry. He has participated in the survey of numerous significant sites in the Kaliningrad Region and is actively involved in teaching.

Also at the event, S.V. Chernomaz, the Minister of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Kaliningrad Region, presented an Appreciation Letter from the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation (Minstroy) to A.G. Mnatsakanyan, the Acting Rector of KSTU. He received the appreciation letter for his active involvement in organising and assisting with the youth forum Young Specialist—Builder of the Future.

In 2026, the forum took place in more than 40 cities across Russia. In the Kaliningrad Region, our university served as the venue for this large-scale industry event. Round-table discussions were held for participants, featuring representatives from the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation (Minstroy), Federal Center for Construction Control and the region’s leading construction companies, alongside masterclasses for school pupils and excursions to significant construction sites in the region for students.

To mark the anniversary, the Union of Builders Kaliningrad Regional Association of Employers, with the support of the Kaliningrad Region Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities, established a new tradition: presenting an honorary award to the best graduating student. The minister, S.V. Chernomaz, presented it to Anastasia Ushakova, a graduate from KSTU.

Anastasia graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Construction; she has won numerous international competitions and championships in the design of buildings and structures and is actively involved in research, which she will continue during her master’s degree programme at KSTU.
