KSTU hosted the Ecosystems Without Borders – 2026 conference
On 2 and 8 October, the VII International Conference Ecosystems Without Borders – 2026 took place at KSTU. It was held as part of the XIV International Baltic Maritime Forum. KSTU and UNIVERSITET.RU, Centre for the Support of Scientific and Educational Projects, organised the event.
The conference comprised two sections:
- Economic Systems and Processes;
- Agro-biotechnology.
This year, the conference brought together researchers from various scientific fields. They discussed issues relating to the sustainable development of society in economics, ecology, biotechnology and agriculture. The relevance of this task stems from the need to meet humanity’s growing needs without depleting natural resources or causing damage to the environment.
For the seventh year now, participants at the Ecosystems Without Borders conference have been working on the creation of joint research projects.
This year, more than 50 representatives from leading universities and research centres participated in the conference, in both in-person and online formats. Among the international participants were representatives from universities in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Iran.
During the discussions, participants addressed a wide range of topics:
- Theoretical and methodological foundations for the study of ecosystems, their evolution, opportunities and challenges;
- Impact of new economic geography and regional specifics on the development of ecosystems;
- Transformation of ecosystems in the context of spatial development, science, technology, innovation and business;
- Biotechnological methods for enhancing the sustainability and productivity of agriculture;
- The role of biotechnology in production chains and its impact on the quality and processing of food products;
- Environmental challenges on the path to sustainable development;
- Methods and technologies for the rational use of resources.
Traditionally, a collection of articles based on the best papers will be published following the conference. The editors will include it in the international databases Web of Science and Scopus.
The organisers would like to thank all participants, as well as the members of the organising and programme committees, for their fruitful work and the high standard of the event’s organisation.
