Vladislav Fomenko, a student of the Applied Informatics training direction, participated in the RLT.Hack hackathon. It took place from 1 to 2 October as part of the 10th St. Petersburg International Forum on Contract Relations.

The federal e-commerce platform, JSC United Electronic Market Place, organised the event. The organisers required participants to develop a prototype of an intelligent service to search for relevant suppliers, manufacturers and distributors for the Automated State Procurement System and St. Petersburg’s online shop within two days.

A total of 18 teams participated in the hackathon, comprising young specialists in the fields of software development, data analysis, machine learning and product management. Following the qualifying round, the five strongest teams advanced to the final, including Vladislav Fomenko’s team. Following the project presentations, the team came fifth, securing a place among the competition’s finalists.

V. Yashina, Deputy Director General for Organisational Development at Roseltorg, noted that a key feature of the hackathon was the need to define the criteria correctly for assessing the suitability of contractors, select data for evaluating suppliers and identify new market participants. Expanding the pool of suppliers is a top priority for the client, so it was important for the organisers to see participants who are unfamiliar with the procurement sector propose their approaches.

Participating in hackathons of this level enables KSTU students not only to apply their theoretical knowledge but also to gain valuable experience in solving real-world business problems under time pressure. The university is proud of our students' achievements and wishes Vladislav every success in his future career!
