Students from the Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management attended the opening of the VIII International Baltic Business Forum, Business Universe. Time of Creation. This large-scale business event in the region took place at the Variety Theater Yantar Hall in Svetlogorsk.

The forum brought together more than 3,000 participants, including leading federal and international experts, top managers, investors, and representatives of government bodies. The organisers placed particular emphasis on the 80th anniversary of the Kaliningrad Region, dedicating key sessions to the sustainable development of the territory and the search for innovative economic solutions.

For future economists, participating in the forum was a unique opportunity to step outside the classroom and get a firsthand look at current trends in the modern economy.

The programme on the first day focused on providing practical assistance to businesses and adapting to changing global conditions. Students of the institute attended specialised sessions dedicated to the application of artificial intelligence in business and the development of unmanned aviation and took part in master classes led by recognised speakers, including a negotiation expert I.R. Ryzov and a writer A.E. Tsypkin. The students also got acquainted with the technologies of international cooperation and observed from the sidelines how business negotiations are conducted with delegations from Belarus and China.

In addition, the students were able to personally assess the achievements of Kaliningrad entrepreneurs at an exhibition of regional brands.

“Attending the Baltic Business Forum was a powerful impetus for our professional development. We didn’t just listen to lectures — we saw how the real sector of the region’s economy functions, how international ties are built with partners from China and Belarus, and what requirements the market is placing on young professionals today. Such trips help us understand in which direction to develop further,” the participants said.

The administration of the Institute of Industry-Based Economics and Management notes that students’ participation in key business forums in the country and region is an important part of the educational strategy, which helps to develop competitive specialists and coordinate educational programmes with the current needs of the business community.
