On February 13-17, Grodno hosted a conference of the project “Russia-Belarus: Strong Partnership”. Within the framework of the conference, the delegation fr om the Kaliningrad region visited the Grodno region of the Republic of Belarus. One of the participants of this conference was an employee of the Department of Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture of KSTU A.S.Menshenin.

The purpose of the conference is to actively promote the revival of partnerships between various representatives of civil communities on the example of two regions and to develop an initiative to create a cross-border cooperation program between Russia and Belarus. During their three-day visit, the Russian delegation got acquainted with the potential of five districts of the Grodno region in order to develop areas for further joint cooperation.

The program began with the conference of the "Russia-Belarus: Strong Partnership" project in the building of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, wh ere a plenary session was held. The session was aimed at focusing on the partnership between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, namely the Kaliningrad and Grodno regions.

Then a round table discussion was held, which touched upon the topic of youth cooperation. The following issues were touched upon: environmental projects, sports, cooperation between schools, parliamentary activities, the work of student teams, student exchanges and much more.

One of the most important and useful events was a visit to the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, where the delegation got acquainted with student communities, exchanged experience and contacts for further interaction. In addition, the program included visits to museums, a tour of the city, the Youth Center, and the Volkovysk Meat Processing Plant. The delegation also visited Belovezhskaya Pushcha with its famous bison - unique objects of the natural heritage of the Republic of Belarus; and a visit was made to Porokhovnya memorial complex, where the delegation honored the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War.

Work within the framework of the project will continue throughout the year and in the summer the Kaliningrad region will host a return visit from the Grodno region.
